6 DSC_0023

The French 50+ course is specially designed for students over 50 who want to improve their French while discovering the art, culture, gastronomy and the landscapes of the Côte d’Azur.  Seniors wishing to learn or improve their French enjoy taking classes in the morning, exploring the South of France in the afternoon, and having their evenings free. At night, our students will be housed in studios with all the mod cons in one of our club residences, a short walk from the centre of Antibes and the beaches. For details of the French school in Antibes please see ‘Learn French in Antibes‘.

Lessons per week 20  Duration 1 or 2 weeks
Levels Beginners to Advanced Students per class Maximum 12
Minutes per lesson 45 Minimum age 50

Over 50’s attend the standard course in the morning. As such, in a relaxed environment they will learn core grammar skills, develop their essential oral communication skills and familiarize themselves with French culture.

ACTIVITIESAfter class, in order to familiarise themselves with French culture and build on what they have learned whilst enjoying their free time, we offer seniors the opportunity to explore the region and discover its cultural diversity.

Each week is composed of 3 half-day or activities on weekdays and a full-day excursion at weekends.

Cultural activities or workshops

Each week a specific cultural activity is on offer for seniors, whether an introduction to petanque, a Provencal cooking workshop, local product tasting or a going to the movies or theatre, they are all an opportunity to speak in French in a relaxed atmosphere.

Afternoon excursions

Twice a week you will set out to explore the region by hiking the coastal path of the cap d’Antibes, exploring Grasse and the famous Fragonard perfumery, visiting Saint Paul de Vence and the Maeght Foundation or taking a guided tour of the streets of Cannes.

Weekend excursions

Students on the 50+ two-week programme will spend Saturday on a day trip exploring Nice or Monaco. Both excursions are an opportunity to explore iconic sites of the Côte d’Azur, visit a museum and purchase a few souvenirs.
